Sticky Cashew Chicken

Trying to cut back on takeaway but still want the same taste? Coat our Chicken-Style Strips in a sweet and savoury sauce, add in some cashews and serve with rice and we can guarantee you won't be needing to jump on Uber eats again any time soon...


  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 packet Plantry Chicken-Style
  • Original Strips
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup roasted, unsalted cashews
  • 1/4 cup spring onion, chopped
  • Spring onion & sesame seeds, to garnish
  • Cooked white rice, to serve


  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp hoisin Sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp water


  1. To make the sauce, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil and water in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan on medium-high heat and fry the Plantry Chicken-Style Original Strips until golden, add in the garlic and fry until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the sauce and simmer until bubbly. Mix together the water and cornflour to make a slurry, pour into the pan and stir until thickened. Stir through the cashews and spring onion.
  4. Serve stir fry over
